Faith & Veritas ’23 Highlights

March 30 – April 2, 2023

A rich community of faith, leveraging excellence in our expertise, faithfulness in our calling, integrity in our character, and love in our actions to address society’s needs.

"Come, Let Us Rebuild" by Mr. Michael Cheng

The Ballroom at The Charles Hotel

This performance by members of the Harvard University Choir during the Dinner Banquet on April 1 features an original composition written for Faith & Veritas ’23 by award-winning composer and alumnus Michael Cheng, Harvard University ’19 and HLS ’24.

"The Recovery of Moral Knowledge and the Global Struggle for Justice" by Mr. Gary Haugen

James Room, Swartz Hall (Harvard Divinity School)

In this Plenary Session, Mr. Haugen discusses the current state of the global struggle for justice, freedom, and human dignity. He specifically addresses how the contemporary university must recover the pursuit of moral knowledge if it aspires to be useful in equipping students and citizens in the continuation of this historic struggle.

"Paul in Athens: When Gospel Meets Culture" by Dr. N.T. Wright

Sanders Theatre, Memorial Hall

The Harvard motto — VERITAS, Truth — poses a challenge in every generation, especially now for those who share the Founders’ Christian faith in a very different world. What might speaking ‘truth’ into today’s society look like? In this Keynote Session, Dr. Wright examines Paul’s speech to the Supreme Court of Athens in Acts 17 to see how he went about a similar task and what might be learned from him.
